Please read on to find out more….

Sustrans Bike It for jobseekers is a free advice and practical skills service. Through a supported process, you will benefit from having 1-1 support from our Bike It officer. Our aim is to get you looking for employment healthily and sustainably. Through a programme of practical advice and skills sessions you will receive a customised action plan to assist you in making positive changes in the way you search for employment and travel around the city.

We also have limited funding to purchase refurbished bike for job seekers for those that want to cycle but do not currently have a bike. Job seekers will have a selection of professionally refurbished bikes from our Connected partner, Bike Back Derby. Each bike is also supplied with a set of lights and a lock to help keep you safe and secure. So far, the Sustrans Bike It project has helped over forty job seekers access the refurbished bike scheme.

Our Derby Bike It Officer is Al Ditheridge.  If you would like to take advantage of this advice and skills service then please do contact him. You can contact Al directly or, alternatively, your job centre or workplace provider can make a referral.
