Rolls Royce, Sinfin Site A next to "The Village"

The Connected team and service providers will be at Rolls Royce Sinfin on Tuesday 7th and Wednesday 8th October 2014, offering sustainable travel advise to all staff. There will also be competitions, goodie bags and aFREE cup of coffee!

The team will be located in the A site car park near the Canteen from 10.30am to 3.30pm both days.

Cycle Derby

FREE bike maintenance

The team will be offering free bike maintenance sessions; the bike health check will include a written report and a £10 voucher which can be used for any repairs redeemable at local independent bike shops. If you are interested in booking a session please email mark.gray@derby.gov.uk.

Bike roller COMPETITION

Employees are encouraged to compete against each other, racing over 250m to see who can achieve the fastest time. The fastest male and female at Rolls Royce will each receive a goodie bag worth £100 and entered into the inter business competition where they could be crowned the “Business Champion Sprinter” and a bike voucher worth £500!

FREE adult cycle training

If you would like to build confidence you can arrange free adult cycle training with a member of the Cycle Derby team, with one to on training, advice on buying a bike and basic cycle maintenance.

East Midlands Trains

The EMT team will be available on Tuesday 7th, they will be providing information on discounts and offers available to staff, as well as timetables and travel advice about their services.

Connected Travel Advisors

Advisors will be offering personal travel plans to staff and after receiving their plan will be entered into a prize draw for a chance to win a tablet. Also on offer will be:

  • Free weekly bus taster tickets (for anyone who drives to work)
  • Free goodie bag (for anyone travelling to work sustainably)
  • Maps and timetables

Bike Back Derby

The local bike recycling project will be available on Tuesday 7th and will be offering low cost refurbished bikes. As well as bike sales Bike Back will be taking adult bike donations of unwanted or unused bikes that they can refurbish. If you have a bike that you would like to donate on the day please email info@derbyconnected.com.

Wheels to Work

The team will be available on Wednesday 8th, Wheels to Work offer subsidised bike and moped loads, for anyone employed or has the offer of work but is experiencing problems getting to work.

Arriva

Arriva Midlands will be on site on Wednesday 8th; they are investing money in the Sinfin to Derby 38 Serviceand have launched the new Sapphire bus on this route. They will be able to answer travel advice questions about the bus service and any feedback from staff on the day.

There will be a cafe area set up so staff can enjoy a free cup of coffee while getting sustainable travel information and enjoying the competitions and prize draws! There will also be a chance for staff to complete the Connected Commuter Count, a short travel survey where you could win an iPad Mini, £250 voucher towards a new bike or £100 intu Derby voucher.
