Organisations and individuals who live or work in the city, are being invited to take part in Derby’s second Commuter Count – a ‘snapshot’ survey to find out how people travel to work.

The Commuter Count has been organised by Connected, the local travel initiative which aims to raise awareness of and encourage people to use sustainable travel. Through Connected employers and their employees can access advice and services to help make sustainable travel choices an easier way of life.

This short survey will be open from 14th September to 12th October 2015, and can be completed online at www.derbyconnected.com/commuter-count Paper copies are also available by emailing info@derbyconnected.com

Councillor Asaf Afzal, Cabinet Member for Cohesion and Integration said: “Information gathered from this survey will help to monitor travel patterns across the city. This is the second time Derby City Council has undertaken a citywide travel survey, and I encourage both organisations and anybody who commutes into or out of the city to take part”.

Last year over around 2,500 people took part in the survey. Everyone who completes the survey has the opportunity to enter a free prize draw to win one of three great prizes:

  • 16GB iPad mini
  • £250 bike voucher
  • £100 intu Derby gift card

Organisations are being asked to encourage their staff to complete the survey. E-shots and posters to promote the commuter count within the workplace are available, and paper surveys can also be provided upon request. Organisations should email info@derbyconnected.com, or telephone Connected on 01332 641775 for copies, or to find out more.
