Introducing Take A Stand®
Derby City Council and the Connected Team are delighted to be supporting cycling charity Life Cycle UK in an innovative scheme which will fund free cycle parking for small businesses and not for profits in Derby.
This pilot project – Take a Stand® – will see 23 Sheffield stands distributed to small local businesses and not-for-profits, helping to ease congestion and improve accessibility as part of Derby’s Connected initiative.
What do you get?
Up to two cycle parking stands (suitable for up to four bikes), can be delivered free of charge to local businesses to allow customers, staff, visitors to park their bicycles safely. Please note that the installation of the stands is the responsibility of the company, and must be completed within three months of receiving them.
Take a lead and be part of the pilot, which if successful could see more people benefiting from cycling and promoting local sustainability across the city.
How to take part
To take advantage of the ‘Take a Stand®’ scheme there is a quick and simple online application process. The stands then get ordered and delivered, and the company install them. Help and advice is available from Life Cycle UK.
