What is Connected?

Connected is an exciting initiative in Derby that aims to encourage local people to live more sustainable lifestyles, by providing the right motivation, information and incentives to get them personally interested in making a positive change.

The primary focus of Connected is to Keep Derby Moving by increasing participation in the use of sustainable travel options, including cycling, walking, public transport and car-sharing. It seeks to do this by providing dependable travel information, developing attractive offers, giving one-to-one support and changing attitudes.

Connected for Business

George Cowcher“The Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire Chamber of Commerce is fully supportive of the Connected scheme, and continues to work with the council in conveying the benefits of sustainable travel across the business community.”

George Cowcher, Chief Executive of Derbyshire & Nottinghamshire Chamber of Commerce.

Whilst it focuses mainly on sustainable travel, Connected for Business aims to help local organisations to develop wholly more sustainable business practices. This shift will contribute towards regenerating the city, increasing employment opportunities, reducing road congestion and lowering pollution, whilst at the same time bringing other direct benefits to all the businesses that take part.
