After four weeks, we received over 2,000 responses to the Derby Commuter Count survey and would like to say a big thank you to everyone who took part in our second citywide travel survey. Special thanks must go to all the organisations that helped us to promote the Commuter Count to their employees, visitors and customers.

We can now announce the prize draw winners, and the Travel Champion winners (those who got the highest staff participation within their organisation)

  • First prize – 16GB iPad Mini – Jane Hardstaff, Derby Museums
  • Second prize – £250 bike voucher – April O’Brien, Webhelp
  • Third prize – £100 intu gift card – Mark Powell, Balfour Beatty

The travel champion winners are Sharon Loftus and Stacey Cassidy  of Derwent Living, who encouraged 54% of staff to participate in the survey.  They each receive a £50 intu gift card.

About the Commuter Count

The Commuter Count was carried out by Connected, a city council programme which aims to raise awareness about sustainable travel and inspire people to make positive changes in the way they travel. Through Connected, organisations and their employees can access advice and services to help make sustainable travel choices an easier way of life.

The data collected through the Commuter Count is currently being analysed by the team and the findings will be published online in due course. These findings will help us to understand how people travel to work in Derby, and will inform the development of new transport services and future transport strategies.
