Being enthusiastic about a sport is great and as Derby is ever growing as a cycling city, it is great to see people embracing the sport. We want to people to champion cycling the city and encourage others to get on their bike!

There is a lot going on across the city for cyclists and there is even more to come!

Cycle Derby Sportive

The first Sportive was held in 2014 and was a huge success, the Sportive will return for a second year in 2015 due to its popularity. The Cycle challenge is ideal for all levels of rider and 2015 will see an April and September event. Each event has 3 different routes and distances to choose from.

Cycle App

The new app is ideal for when you are out cycling and there are a number of key features that can help you. Monitor and track your rides, as well as route tracking, you can view statistics about your rides including average speed, distance and calories burned. You can log and track each of your routes and see the improvements that you have made on each ride.

Derby Arena

Opening early 2015 the arena features a 250m indoor cycle track, which is suitable for individuals, clubs and track leagues. The much anticipated cycle track is made out of Siberian Spruce and designed by Velotrack. Track sessions will be available to book, so you can try out the velodrome whether your a novice or experienced!

Cycle Clubs

Derby has a number of cycling clubs throughout the city who organise road and mountain biking, time trials, leisure, touring and social rides. There is something for everyone depending on your interest and skill level and most are open to new cyclists.
