Derby is great for motorcycles because it has lots of free parking around the city centre. Most council car parks offer free motorcycle parking and many streets in the centre have two hours free parking for bikes too.

Motorbikes don’t take up very much space on the roads and getting to filter through traffic jams is one of the biggest advantages of riding a powered two-wheeler. Suddenly that traffic jam no longer exists and you can get there in half the time. Plus you get the convenience of door-to-door travel too.

A smaller engine normally means smaller running costs. Many bikes have engines less than half the size of even a small car, so will do many more miles per gallon. Bikes also generally produce less carbon dioxide than cars so are cheaper to tax too.
