Spectrum – the all-day bus travel ticket for Derby is getting even smarter with the launch of 7-day and 28-day saver tickets, saving passengers even more money on multi operator bus travel across the city.

The new saver tickets offer discounts of around 40% on the current day ticket price, enabling a much cheaper and easier way to travel unlimited on local buses in the city!  An adult can receive all day unlimited travel from as little as £3.04.

The new saver tickets will be available to buy from Monday 28th November in the Bus Station information office.  Anybody purchasing a saver ticket during the launch week (Monday 28th November – Saturday 3rd December ) can be entered into a prize draw for a chance to receive a second Spectrum saver ticket of the same value absolutely free.

Councillor Asaf Afzal, Cabinet Member for Cohesion and Integration, said: “The introduction of the spectrum saver tickets will make using public transport even more attractive and convenient for passengers getting around the city using different bus operators, and is another milestone on the road towards a simpler, more user friendly bus service for Derby.

The smart card is free of charge, and is available from the bus station information office, Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 5.30pm and Saturday from 10.00am to 1.00pm. The smart card can then be topped up at either the information office or on participating bus operators, which includes Arriva, trentbarton, Your Bus, Notts and Derby and Kinch Bus in Derby.

The Spectrum ticket was first launched in April 2013, when the Council and bus operators joined forces to introduce the brand new multi-operator day ticket.
