‘Wheels to Work’ is a scheme that provides people who have transport issues that prevent them getting to a job with a moped or bicycle. Wheels to Work really makes it possible for some people to get back into employment. The scheme has been available in some parts of Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire for a while but not actually in Derby itself.

Connected is really excited to be funding the scheme to now cover Derby too, and hopes it will help many local people get back into work.

In Derbyshire last year, Wheels to Work helped 215 people by providing 79 people with moped loans, 21 with bicycles and 115 with other transport costs.

Sandie Abberley, the Manager of Wheels to Work said:

“We’re really excited to now be offering Wheels to Work to residents of Derby. I’ve seen first-hand how much of a difference our moped and bicycle loans can make to people’s lives. It always brings a great deal of satisfaction when I hear that one of our customers has been able to get back into employment because of what we do.”

If you think the scheme could help you, or can think of someone else who may benefit you can visit the Wheels to Work website for more information.
