The Enthusiasm Trust applied for funding from Connected to carry out a project in Derby aimed at using the skills and hard work of local young people to improve and regenerate several local footways around the South East side of the city. The Enthusiasm Trust works with young people to release their potential, repair communities and reduce crime.
The project plans to improve 2 key routes into Derby. They will use local young people to undertake the work in order to promote a strong sense of community ownership of the area and sites.
The routes that will be improved and regenerated are:
- Merlin Green in Sinfin
- Elton Road near Peartree
The project will involve work such as clearing litter, removing graffiti, tidying grassed areas and neatening trees and hedges, all with the aim of making the routes more attractive to the residents who use them.
